What I do with your data
Golden Data is a one-person operation. The data this site touches is what you type into the contact form — plus, if you use the optional rewrite in the Prose Voice Linter tool, the draft you choose to send. This page covers everything that happens after you hit submit.
What gets collected
- Contact form. Your name, email, and message. Company and role if you fill them in (both optional).
- Prose Voice Linter rewrite (optional). The linter’s checks run entirely in your browser. Only if you click “Rewrite in voice” does the draft you pasted get sent to Anthropic’s API for the rewrite. It isn’t stored on my side, and nothing is sent unless you click.
- Server logs. Vercel hosts this site and keeps standard request logs (IP, user agent, requested URL) for a short window. I don’t use those logs for anything beyond debugging.
- Anonymous view and download tallies. A few pages show their own counts — how many times a page has been read, and on the Background Remover, how many transparent PNGs have been saved. Those are plain integers in a table keyed by the page’s URL. Nothing about you, your image, or your session is stored with them, and the image itself never leaves your browser.
- Privacy-friendly pageview counts. I use Vercel Web Analytics to see which pages people read. It’s cookieless, doesn’t fingerprint you, and doesn’t follow you to other sites. No tracking pixels, no third-party advertising cookies.
- What’s kept in your browser. No cookies. A few preferences sit in this browser’s
localStorageand are never sent anywhere: your theme (light or dark), the reading width you choose on a page, and the GIF & meme maker’s export settings (frame rate, colors, trim, caption size — never your video, photo, or caption text). One more lives insessionStorage: the list of pages already counted for the tally above, so refreshing a page doesn’t inflate its count. Clearing this site’s data removes all of it.
What I do with it
- Contact form messages come to my inbox. I read them and usually reply within a couple of days. I don’t add contact-form emails to any list or share them with anyone.
- I don’t sell, rent, or share any of this with third parties.
Who processes it
Five services touch your data on the way to me:
- Vercel hosts the site and runs the cookieless pageview analytics.
- Supabase stores the anonymous per-page view and download tallies described above — counts only, no personal data.
- Formspree processes contact form submissions and forwards them to my email.
- Anthropic processes a draft only when you use the optional “Rewrite in voice” action in the Prose Voice Linter, and only to generate the rewrite.
- Gmail receives anything sent to thegoldendata@gmail.com.
How long I keep it
Contact form messages stay in my Gmail until I clean them out, usually within a year of the conversation ending. Ask and I’ll delete sooner.
Your rights
You can ask me to show you what I have on you, correct it, or delete it. Email thegoldendata@gmail.com with the subject “data request” and I’ll act on it within a week.
Children
Golden Data is written for adults working in B2B software. The site is not directed at children, and I don’t knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.
Changes
If this changes — for example, when newsletter signups move to a proper email service — I’ll update this page and date the change at the bottom.
