Terms

Terms of use

Golden Data is a one-person operation. Everything on this site — the tools, the dashboards, the writing — is free to use. These terms are meant to be read, so they’re short.

The tools

The tools run in your browser, are provided as-is, and can change or disappear without notice. Don’t use them to break the law or to attack the site or other people. That’s about it.

The super PAC packet is not legal advice

This is the important one. The formation packet the Super PAC Structure Picker generates is a map of the published rules. It is notlegal or compliance advice, it is not reviewed by a lawyer, and using it creates no professional relationship. The FEC’s own forms and instructions are free atfec.gov. Forming a political committee is exactly the kind of place where the difference between a map of the rules and real legal advice matters — if you need the latter, talk to an election lawyer.

No warranty

I keep the tools accurate to the published rules and data as best I can, but rules change and I don’t guarantee anything here is current, complete, or right for your situation. It’s all provided “as is,” and you’re responsible for what you file, send, or publish with it.

Your content stays yours

Everything you type into the tools stays in your browser unless a tool says otherwise right where you use it. You own what you produce with them.

Consulting engagements

A build, or an ongoing bench arrangement, is a separate, high-touch engagement handled by direct agreement over email, not by these terms.

Changes

I may update these terms; I’ll date the change below when I do.
